Which Instruments?
A new, yet old, way of doing things.
Not all the violin makers have the same approach to the instrument construction and not all the schools and the professors are are teaching the same way.
In fact, we have developed our own idea, inspiring to the great masters of the past, and not only in the field of the musical instruments manufacturing.
The “Botteghe”, the workshops, of our ancestors were places with a lot of life, confrontation, discussions and sometimes conflicts where the Maestro was also a good organizer who knew how to run the business and how to distribute the work among assistants and shop boys.
Rarely the Maestro was working alone because the final result was the success and the pride of the team of all the workers. However, in special cases and in front of the specific demands, the work was entirely done by the Maestro himself. At Liuteria Bizzi we are more or less following the same principles.
There are two holders, Guido Bizzi and his son Lorenzo, the Maestro Liutaio Milos Seyda and Francesco Iorio, antique instruments, certifications and bows.
We can build about 20 instruments per year but we spent a lot of time and energies for studies and research. For instance, we cook our own varnishes, although we do work continuously to improve, invente and explore new formulas in search for a better transparence or new color nuances.
A lot of work rewarded by the satisfaction of doing that little special thing, that delicate color shade which a demanding musician is looking for.
Moreover, we often have important visitors, great musicians and professors which often bring new ideas, new challenges and goals to pursue.
With regards to the way of manufacturing, our string instruments can be made with multiple hands, sharing the construction among specialists in different areas, the wood carving, the varnishing or the final set-top. Alternatively, the work can entirely be carried out by the Maestro Liutaio. Just a customer choice.
At Liuteria Bizzi, we will also be pleased to show you our range of bows, signed “Iorio Bows”; but there is much more because we also would like to offer you the opportunity to purchase an important antique piece or, why not, just an old violin perfectly renewed at a very convenient price.

Iorio Bows for Liuteria Bizzi
Testing violins with Pavel Berman
This has been the choice of Guido Bizzi: to be surrounded by promising young people, starting with his son Lorenzo, followed by the Maestro Milos and by the expert of string instruments and bow maker Francesco. A team with the purpose to understand and transfer the need of the musicians into the fascinating adventure of making a violin. Our idea it to offer the customers the choice between an old instruments or one by the Liuteria or one made by Maestro Milos.
